Netflix's "Shadow and Bone" Cast Announced
Archie Renaux, Jessie Mei Li, and Amita Suman Join Series
Lead roles for highly anticipated fantasy series revealed
Netflix has announced the cast for its upcoming fantasy series, "Shadow and Bone." The series is based on the popular young adult fantasy novels by Leigh Bardugo and will follow the story of Alina Starkov, a young woman who discovers she has extraordinary powers that could change the fate of her war-torn world.
Archie Renaux will play Malyen "Mal" Oretsev, Alina's childhood friend and love interest. Jessie Mei Li will portray Alina Starkov, the orphaned mapmaker who discovers her hidden powers. Amita Suman will play Inej Ghafa, a skilled tracker and thief.
The series is being developed by Eric Heisserer, who previously wrote the screenplay for the Academy Award-winning film "Arrival." The show is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2021.
